With over 300m visits, Hello Kitty Cafe is one of the biggest branded experiences on Roblox and for the last 5 days it has averaged around 410k visits per day. Which is insane. Imagine 410,000 people come visit your hot dog stand every day for the last 5 days. Insane.

“Hello Kitty Cafe” was the second most searched term associated with Hello Kitty over the last 12 months. So the Roblox experience is a strong force in helping the brand stay relevant amongst kids & young people.

Generally, Hello Kitty is up 42% in search. So, that might be an IP to keep an eye on to see if they capitalise on this uptick.

1️⃣ 84% of Gen Z are inspired by their avatars A bit like how I style myself on The Rock... Gaming avatars are gathering momentum as Gen Z’s muse to styling their IRL outfits. So, next time you see someone wearing a Ski Helmet on Shoreditch High Street, just know that it was in Vogue Roblox.

2️⃣ 62% say they really care about how their avatar looks Whether its a coat, boots or tassels on their sunglasses…The style of their avatar is becoming important. The social currency in owning specific items, especially exclusive ones is now making its way to the digital realm.

3️⃣ 40% say they can be more authentic in the online world Have you seen Ready Player One? Where you really can’t distinguish the real world from the digital world? Well, if this percentage goes up I think we are headed toward that dystopian future faster than we think.

A group of developers are working on “Mineplay”

This story has flown under the radar, but there is a game in development on Roblox that allows Minecraft players and Roblox players to cross play.

Minecraft and Roblox have spent so much time competing, but it’ll be interesting to see how these devs will get both giants onboard this project as Roblox is free and Minecraft is paid.
